Bridgerton Season 4: What we know so far
Chris Van Dusen’s “Bridgerton”, a popular Netflix series based on a historical romance novel series named the same, has caught the attention of the masses. The first season itself gave rise to a huge fan base, with them indulging in the world of fantasy, 19th-century London. This series truly created a whole new world where the audience enjoys living the typical 19th-century London lifestyle through the characters.
Previous seasons of Bridgerton
Season 1
The first season followed Daphne Bridgerton and the Duke of Hastings, showcasing a love affair that started initially as a fake relationship. This immediately hooked the audience with its beautiful dialogue and storyline. The acting and delivery of those dialogues were so on point that it blurred the line between fantasy and reality.
Season 2
The second season, however, focused on the eldest Bridgerton sibling, Anthony Bridgerton, and Kate Sharma, following the epic trope of an enemies-to-lovers scenario. Thai was again one of the fan favourites because of its storyline and very realistic dialogues, and its delivery.
Season 3
Season three focused on Collin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington’s story, which started as a friendship and ended as a love match. The audience was truly amazed by this beautiful storyline and also hooked on the revelation of Lady Whistledown, the town gossip.
Bridgerton season 4, however, is going to be focused on the lesser-known Bridgerton sibling, Benedict Bridgerton. In this season, we see how the so-called ‘free-spirited’ Bridgerton, who did not want to settle for marriage initially sibling finally finds a love match. The audience is excited to see what it takes for Benedict Bridgerton to finally tie the knot and put his freedom to rest.

What’s in the teaser?
The teaser shows us the masquerade ball as the place where the protagonists Sophie and Benedict will first meet. It also captures how smitten Benedict was about “the lady in silver”. It shows us the encounter (brushing hands) between the two and what effect it has on each other. The finding of one of Sophie’s gloves also captures the fairy tale-like essence that this storyline is about to have. The ‘Cinderella’ like plotline has hooked the audience to the show as they, not so patiently, wait for the release.
As we can already see in the teaser, Lady Whistledown’s influence on the ‘ton’ is still as strong as ever, as she continues to make comments rather than gossip about the matters of society (especially love matches). It shows us that Lady Whistledown’s revelation does not affect the quality of her writings, and the fact that Penelope Featherington proudly owns the title as she continues to give her strong opinions to the public.
Storyline of Bridgeton season 4:
Just like all the previous seasons, Bridgerton season 4 is also based on themes such as love, romance, 19th-century lifestyle, etc. Bridgerton season 4 would focus on the second-oldest Bridgerton sibling, Benedict Bridgerton. Yes, you heard it right, the carefree sibling who couldn’t settle for anyone and always picked his freedom over everything. This season will focus on Benedict Bridgeton and Sophie Beckett’s relationship and how it spirals through many different events.
This season has a touch of that fairy tale magic, especially when the storyline is similar to that of the legendary fairy tale “Cinderella”. The storyline follows the struggle the pair would go through for belonging to two completely different classes with different class power dynamics. The teaser also portrays a scene of encounter where Benedict finds Sophie’s glove, which can be linked to the scenario where Cinderella lost her glass slipper.
The audience has been eagerly waiting for this sequence to drop, and the teaser has sparked their curiosity beyond limits.
