Mouse PI for Hire is a distinctive first-person shooter from Fumi Games published by PlaySide Studios on April 16, 2026.

You will play as Jack Pepper, a private eye with many dangerous investigations to solve in Mouseburg, a city filled with crime and secrets, and where you will uncover a larger conspiracy in the game’s story. 

The game’s plot will have a traditional film noir writing style (for example, with some very witty dialogue and plenty of darkness), but it will have lots of humor to maintain its sense of humor. 

Gameplay

The game is a kind of shooter type and also includes investigation and exploration to solve crimes. Players can:

What truly distinguishes this video game from others is the combination of graphics/animation (black and white “rubber hoses” from original cartoons linked to new 3-D modeled characters/environments) creating a nostalgic yet future feeling; and the sound effects (music contains a lot of jazz flavor) voice-overs are done extremely well, and sound effects (e.g. guns going off or footsteps behind you) contribute greatly to the feeling of existing in a noir inspired world. 

Reception

This video game received positive feedback due to great creativity & originality. Many gamers commented on how different the concept was from other games currently available. 

However, some feedback was critical of the lack of depth in storylines and repetitiveness in combat. But generally speaking, it seems people have enjoyed the game overall.
